Leading for the future

Preparing young people for the world of work is key to long-term productivity and competitiveness. Supporting these young people to find fulfilling careers is a collective responsibility and to achieve this goal, QAS designed and launched the Operational Trainee Development Program under the guidance of the Training Manager, Mr. Murat Topcu.

Graduates from the Cranfield University, United Kingdom were selected for this program to work as Operational Trainee. This program kicked off on 1st January 2020 with four Graduates who completed rotations in various departments across QAS under the mentorship of a dedicated Senior Manager Mrs. Ksenija Kovacevic and Mr. Ghassan Fakhri who was appointed as the Coach. These Operational Trainees went through rotational training in all the key operational areas in QAS Ground Handling, from check-in and boarding, special passenger handling to turnaround coordination, load control, ground service equipment, ramp loading, baggage and transportation as well as operational planning and resource management.
 
The performance of the Graduates has surpassed the set objectives and KPIs over the programme of 18 months and they have demonstrated required skills and competencies which was assessed at various stages.
 
The Operational Trainee program has been very successful as three of the Graduates have secured permanent roles within QAS and are keen to contribute towards the Growth and Sustainability of QAS.
